The spotlight for our October Athlete of the Month falls onto Gregory Schmidt. Greg has been a member with us since GFL Build 2, way back in the attached garage days. Our coaches had nothing but good things to say about Greg, including that his consistency has led to great improvements in mobility and strength. It was even obvious to our coaches who just met Greg that he is extremely motivated to learn and improve his technique. Most importantly, our coaches noted that Greg works hard, never complains, and knows how/when to scale appropriately while still challenging himself. Greg has been participating in the recent CrossFit Open with Eviction CrossFit, and it is clear that he has made significant progress from previous years.

To the owner’s of Eviction CrossFit, Greg is known as a great friend, athlete in all sports outside of the gym, and a great mentor and coach for both children’s basketball and baseball. Tip for anyone looking to play basketball with Greg: wear goggles!! Keep up the good work, Greg! Take a minute to read through Greg’s interview responses below. When you see Greg around the gym make sure to say Congratulations!

What is your fitness background?

I grew up playing soccer, baseball, and basketball, and continued baseball and soccer through high school.  I enjoy running and trying to keep up with my kids.

What is your current personal CrossFit goal?

My current goal is be able to hit 10-15 consecutive toes to bar and to make that damn bike move faster!

What would you tell someone who is just starting at CrossFit?

I would tell someone just starting out to focus on making small improvements on a consistent basis and to have fun.

Anything else you would like to share/say?

Thank you to the coaches and staff at Eviction.  They are all extremely dedicated and helpful and make the gym a great place to train.

Thank YOU Greg for being an amazing Athlete! We look forward to watching you grow in the future.
